Sovereign publishes inaugural ESG Report

Sovereign Capital Partners, the leading UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is pleased to announce the publication of its first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Annual Report.

The report includes performance data from across our portfolio, addressing issues ranging from greenhouse gas emissions to cybersecurity and governance, building on our disclosure to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment reporting framework. It marks an important milestone in our journey, showcasing our dedication to transparency and accountability in addressing ESG considerations.

It also details our approach to investment, which has always been designed to build better businesses by responsibly identifying opportunities for value creation. Indeed, Sovereign has been investing in sectors which provide a fundamental social good for over 20 years. The principles of ESG have therefore always been integral to Sovereign. As active managers, our ESG programme supports each company and management team we back, driving financial and operational success and further demonstrating the value of our efforts and strategic direction.

Highlights include:

• 100% of our portfolio companies have calculated their baseline carbon footprint
• 100% of our companies have a three-year ESG Action Plan in place
• 100% of our companies have anti-bribery and corruption policies
• 75% of our companies have calculated their gender pay gap
